Jonathon Flores is a dedicated mental health professional with a strong academic background and extensive experience in research, lecturing, and counseling. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with a minor in Biology, from the University of Texas at Austin. He completed a Master’s in Psychology at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey, followed by a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Houston Christian University. He is currently a doctorate student at Houston Christian University.
Jonathon served in multiple graduate assistantship and lecturing assistantship roles. He lectured several college-level psychology courses, including Statistics & Research Design, The Mind in Evolution, and Introduction to Psychology. His passion for research led him to participate in numerous projects for over a decade, culminating in a position with Houston Christian University’s Center for Research and Doctoral Studies, where he supported faculty and student research endeavors.
Jonathon was an elected board member of the Fort Bend Counseling Association. He completed practicum at the Fort Bend Women’s Center, providing counseling services to adolescents, families, groups, couples and individual adults—many of whom had experienced domestic violence or sexual assault. Jonathon’s therapeutic approach is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy, and he is committed to offering compassionate, evidence-based care to clients from diverse backgrounds.
Jonathon graduated with highest honors on the Dean’s list. He was recognized with a Talent Award from Duke University. He participated in the Intellectual Entrepreneurship Consortium, earning grants and awards for poster presentations at annual psychology conferences, such as the Society for Personality and Social Psychology. His exceptional academic performance led to numerous scholarships and full-tuition awards.
